Child-oriented, dynamic and current<\/strong><\/p>

Amid a busy holistic menu, Durbanville Primary School\u2019s curriculum is central at all times. To develop learners optimally, education is aimed at the child in totality which is why we unlock certain concepts, skills and values.<\/p>

Supporting the learning process<\/strong><\/p>

The CAPS (Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement) forms an integral part of teaching and learning. The purpose of the traditional product-oriented (exam-oriented) evaluation has been replaced with an evaluation that provides support for the learning process through meaningful, valid and relevant information regarding each learner's progress. Learning processes and products are measured by continuous school-based evaluation. Each learner\u2019s performance must be compared to his ability and not to the performance of other learners. Reporting regarding each learner's development process takes place quarterly. Two full-time learning supporters guide teachers during school hours and support learners in mathematics, languages and through alternative assessment.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

              Durbanville Primary School is a value-driven school and universal values form the basis of our spiritual pillar. Assemblies and other events are opened in an appropriate manner. Volunteer youth workers from the surrounding churches focus on these values during weekly JOT lessons.<\/p>
